Coldplay is a British band that formed in London in 1996, featuring Chris Martin (vocals/piano), Jonny Buckland(guitar), Guy Berryman (bass), and Will Champion (drums). Their first hit came in 2000 with “Yellow”, launching their debut album Parachutes. This album earned them widespread fame and a Grammy Award.
In 2002, they released A Rush of Blood to the Head, featuring hits like “Clocks” and “The Scientist”. It won multiple Grammy Awards and cemented their status in rock music.
Albums like X&Y (2005) and Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008) followed. Viva la Vida became their first No. 1 hit in both the UK and U.S. The band continued experimenting with sounds on Mylo Xyloto (2011) and Ghost Stories (2014).
Their A Head Full of Dreams (2015) tour grossed over $523 million, one of the highest in history. Coldplay’s album, Music of the Spheres (2021), features collaborations with artists like BTS. Coldplay released their latest album, Moon Music, in 2024
