The Legends of Progressive Rock: Rush

From the suburbs of Toronto to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rush redefined the boundaries of music. This power trio—Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart—blended complex musicianship with profound storytelling. Consequently, they became one of the most influential bands in history.

The band’s journey began with their self-titled debut, but they truly found their voice with the 1976 masterpiece, 2112. Afterwards, they dominated the 80s with legendary releases like Moving Pictures and Signals. These albums featured hits like “Tom Sawyer” and “The Spirit of Radio,” which remain rock radio staples today.

Rush was famous for their rigorous touring schedule and flawless live execution. Specifically, their R40 Live 40th Anniversary Tour served as a spectacular “reverse-chronological” tribute to their career. Every show was a masterclass in percussion and guitar prowess, leaving fans in awe of their technical skill.

While the band officially retired from large-scale touring following the passing of Neil Peart, they announced in 2025 the ‘Fifty Something‘ tour.
