Metallica is one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time. They formed in Los Angeles in 1981. First, they released Kill ‘Em All in 1983. It was fast, raw, and full of energy. Then, Ride the Lightning (1984) and Master of Puppets(1986) took things further.

In the early 2000s, St. Anger (2003) brought raw aggression. Although it divided fans, it marked a bold moment in their history. Then, in 2008, Death Magnetic brought back classic thrash vibes. That year, the World Magnetic Tour began, spanning multiple continents.

Later, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct came out in 2016. It was loud, fast, and full of fury. To promote it, they launched the WorldWired Tour, which lasted several years.

Over the years, Metallica has headlined Monsters of Rock, Lollapalooza, and countless festivals. From the garage to the global stage, they’ve never stopped pushing boundaries.

Most recently, Metallica returned in 2023 with 72 Seasons. It’s heavy, emotional, and deeply personal. Following the release, they launched the massive M72 World Tour. Fans around the globe packed stadiums for two-night shows and rotating setlists.

Metallica returns to Europe in 2026 with the explosive M72 World Tour. The run starts in Athens and continues through major cities like Athens, Berlin, Bologna, Dublin, Cardiff and London. In addition, fans can expect massive stadium production, powerful support acts, and special No Repeat Weekend shows in select cities. As a result, this tour is one of the biggest rock events of the year.
